Curaçao – Fundashon Alton Paas is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of our recent Taco Take Out Fundraising event, held on October 18th at Café Magic. Thanks to the incredible support of the community, we sold over 700 Taco Kits and raised significant critical funds aimed at improving the lives of individuals with mobility challenges.
The funds raised will go directly toward advancing our mission to create a future without limitations, lowering the barriers to accessible transportation and ensuring more individuals can access life-changing post-rehabilitation services. One such individual, Raymian, an electrician whose mobility was severely impaired, shared his story of renewed hope and independence thanks to the services provided by the AP Center of Fundashon Alton Paas. After beginning his journey with us, Raymian has gone from relying on a wheelchair to walking with a cane, demonstrating the tangible impact of your support.
Event Highlights
The Taco Take Out event was not only a chance to enjoy delicious food but also an opportunity to come together for a cause that truly matters. One of the most heartwarming moments was the donation of 150 meals to those in need, which were delivered through a partnership with Voedselbank. These meals were made possible thanks to the generosity of local companies and individuals who purchased the taco kits but choose to give these to people in need.
Attendees who stayed after picking up their tacos were treated to a lively performance by a Mariachi Solis group, making the atmosphere even more festive. Feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive, with participants praising the “mouthwateringly delicious” tacos and noting the smooth, well-organized experience.
Key Supporters and Sponsors
This event would not have been possible without the support of many local businesses, including notable supporters like Carin Cares, who not only purchased tickets but also generously gave taco kits to new clients of their alarm button service. We also partnered with the Pedagogia Kids Care Center, where we were invited to give a talk on inclusion to a group of children aged 4 to 12. We also like to thank the Chef Ilan Martina and his team for preparing all these delicious Taco’s
We would like to extend a special thank you to our key sponsors, including Firgos, Van Den Tweel, Dany’s Grocerie, Boulevard Supermarket, Aqualectra, JD Transport, Clincho, Curacao Packaging Center, Distribier, Living Fashion, Deli Nova, Franky’s Chairs and Tables Rental, We love food Curaçao, Step it Up, and Pietersz Import. Additionally, a dedicated group of 17 volunteers made the event run smoothly, with students from Curacao Medical University generously donating their time to give back to the community.
